Catamarans can be chartered for large and small tours to South Africa,
diving sorties, sea fishing, visiting other islands and much more.

A piroge, which is also used for river journeys (Tsiribihina) is in
a more adventurous category.

For river journeys that are a little more comfortable, larger
groups can also go by old steamer.

A motorised dug-out boat for transfer over the open sea to Anakao
(weather conditions mean that this is not always possible) can also be
an option.

A sports boat for tourists for fishing, diving, and for other
excursions or transfers (e.g. Ifaty) is also an option.

With this kind of boat tourists and natives are carried from
Madagascar to the tropical island Nosy Be.

This fishing boat is for the little self-employed fisherman. With these little boats (dug-outs) it is possible, but very dangerous, to go far out to sea. People often go missing.

A water taxi on the channel-canal of Pangalanes – which is, by the
way, the longest canalized channel in the world, and is located in the
middle of the rain forest!

A big Madagascan fishing boat. This is rather for richer people of the nation, or for co-operatives.
