If you should want yourselves to inform before travel start about the security of the country, you can do it by the foreign office under the telephone number of 0228/170 or on the web site of the Auswärtige Amt .

For the stay in Madagascar visa obligation exists!

Each person, who wants to travel to Madagascar, must request independently of the intended duration of the stay an entry visa.

A visa for tourism or for business is valid 6 months starting from distribution for at the most of 3 months stay for the entry to Madagascar.

Necessary documents:

2 filled out and request forms signed by the applicant
2 passport photos
a valid passport (at least 6 months validity; the German child document of identification recognition)
a flight reservation for and return flight
if the passport is not personally fetched: attach please a franked back envelope with 3,58 EUR
since 01.04.2008: 50 EUR for an entry OR 75 EUR for repeated entries per person (payable in cash or by cheque)

After inquiry by Mail and receipt of a password you can download the request as a PDF file.

For travellers, who through-travelled before risk areas, an inoculation against yellow fever and Cholera is prescribed. A preventive measure against malaria is recommended several days before entry or in the first days of the stay to each traveller.

The treatment of the complete documents takes usually 48 hours starting from entrance. The documents are only sent after payment of the fee to the applicant.

Please pay attention to submit your visa request at least 14 days before travel start in order to avoid possible delays!
